Earwigs

Eliminate any accumulations of moisture, Also, eliminate damp conditions in crawl spaces under homes, around outside faucets, air conditioning units, and other places. Reduce lawn and flower bed watering wherever possible. Remove or alter places that attract earwigs such as flower gardens and sheltered areas under trash and compost or wood piles. Keep grass and weeds cut short around structural foundations. Also reduce outside lights at night, since these tend to attract earwigs.

These insects gain access indoors through very small cracks and crevices. Use caulking and weatherstripping around doors, windows, pipes and other places to exclude them. Earwigs generally enter the home at the ground level, so pay particular attention to low areas. Call Us Now to recieve a free quote and inspection.

Rats/ Mice

Good sanitation will effectively limit the number of rats that can survive in and around the home. This involves good housekeeping, proper storage and handling of food materials and refuse, and elimination of rodent shelter (harborage). Outside dog pens must be properly maintained to reduce potential rat problems. Good sanitary practices will not eliminate rats under all conditions, but will make the environment less suitable for them to thrive.

Spiders

Routine, thorough house cleaning is the best way to eliminate spiders and discourage their return. A vacuum cleaner or broom effectively removes spiders, webs, and egg sacs. Spiders prefer quiet, undisturbed areas such as closets, garages, basements, and attics. Reducing clutter in these areas makes them less attractive to spiders. Large numbers of spiders often congregate outdoors around the perimeter of structures. Migration indoors can be reduced by moving firewood, building materials, and debris away from the foundation. Shrubs, vines and tree limbs should be clipped back from the side of the building.Install tight-fitting window screens and door sweeps to exclude spiders and other insects. Inspect and clean behind outdoor window shutters. To further reduce spider entry from outside, insecticides can be applied as a "barrier treatment" around the base of the foundation. Pay particular attention to door thresholds, garage and crawl space entrances, including foundation vents.

Termite

Keep an eye out around your home for obvious signs of a termite problem. These include but are not limited to tunnels of mud, a powder similar to sawdust near doors or windows, or small holes on wood surfaces that are either inside or outside of your home.Make sure that you do not have wood touching the ground near your home. Trim back your shrubs. Inspect crawl spaces under your porch and seal cracks on the outside of your home. These steps will help to keep more termites from getting in.
